Skilling the young generation to acquire skills they need to be self-employed and independent!

Unemployment is a huge challenge to the youth around the world especially in countries like Uganda which is quite high and the level unemployment is going high everyday. This being brought by not having the skills which the employers are looking for and Uganda government is a aware of this challenge where they have tasked the vocational institutions to put much emphasis to both genders especially girl at all levels.

Recognize Girls' Equal Access to Skills Training

This is a program will force on skills that drive co-creation of innovative skills and solution to solve Uganda’s biggest problems employment sector. For instance in Uganda today, vocational training opportunity are given to boys and girls are left out as minors which is a psychological thing know both genders are same and can perform very well.

Girls have opportunity to study what they want and can aspire to be plumbers, welders and engineers and boy vice versa. Many public vocation training schools are seen as ordinary schools which left this sector not effective.

While in countries like Uganda where employers are looking for skilled personally who are more practical. Now young generations have seen the value of skills. Many have failed to turn their knowledge and hard skill in career progress effective employment.

However, ECOPS has managed to change this mindset within the communities by working with some other vocations to end this ancient thinking and adjust to the need of the job market for girls
